     Caroline doesn't appear in the 1881 census with the rest of the family despite being recorded as being born in 1878.

There is a Caroline Scholes born abt 1879 in Carleton, Yorkshire (40 miles from Leeds) who is staying with her grand parents Joseph and Charity Scholes. Our records do not show any links between Joseph and Charity and our Caroline's parents.

Clearly more research is needed to check Caroline's birth date and her whereabouts in 1881.
